Lynne Puhalla
Artist Biography

Lynne

Lynne Puhalla was born and raised in the town of Dalton, Massachusetts, located in the heart of the picturesque Berkshire Hills. Growing up in a small, rural area, she developed a passion for nature. This passion is evident throughout her work, as many of her pieces incorporate the leaves, vines, and flowers that now grow in her extensive English-style gardens.

After earning an Associate Degree in Interior Design from Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts, Lynne made the decision to relocate to the West Coast, choosing to settle in Portland, Oregon. While in Portland, she apprenticed for 5 years for Joel Cottet Pottery and also earned a Bachelor's Degree in Sculpture from Portland State University.

In 2001, one of Lynne's original Signature Baskets was exhibited at the National Festival of American Basketry in Historic Amana Colonies, Iowa. In 2002, Lynne married her husband Jeff and then, after nearly 20 years of developing her own basketry and mixed media techniques in the Pacific Northwest, decided to return home to New England and open her own studio.

Lynne's original works showcase her ongoing interest in working with form, shape, and texture. Her pieces are all created in her studios, located in North Attleboro, Massachusetts, where Lynne now calls home.
